Fall Plant Swap to Celebrate Gardening Season’s End in Central Indiana.

As the gardening season draws to a close in central Indiana, local residents have a final opportunity to enhance their garden beds. The Perennial Exchange will host its fall plant swap on September 21 in Bloomington, offering gardeners a chance to diversify their plant collections.

The event will take place at Moose Lodge No. 1081, located at 840 S. Cory Lane, Bloomington. Starting at 9 a.m., attendees can enjoy a continental breakfast while setting up for the plant swap, which runs from 10 to 10:40 a.m. Following the swap, participants can attend a business meeting and enjoy a light brunch accompanied by an educational presentation.

Founded in 1995, the Perennial Exchange aims to connect gardeners through the exchange of perennial plants. The organization holds two plant swaps annually—one in the spring and one in the fall. These events typically feature plant trading, new gardener introductions, speaker sessions, workshops, and garden tours.

The September 21 event will also include a tour of the showcase gardens of two Perennial Exchange members. Additionally, door prizes will be awarded as the event concludes. An optional visit to a nearby pollinator garden will follow.

Admission is $10 per attendee, covering rental and other costs. First-time attendees do not need to be Perennial Exchange members but are encouraged to register online at theperennialexchange.com by Monday.
