Edwards Aquifer Authority Offers Free Plant Pickup in San Antonio Next Week

by Anna
San Antonio residents have a chance to enhance their gardens and yards next week with free native plants from the Edwards Aquifer Authority.

The “Rooted in Texas” drive-thru plant giveaway will take place on October 5, sponsored by the H-E-B Tournament of Champions.

Participants can receive up to two free native plants per person, along with a bag of Edwards Aquifer Authority merchandise, while supplies last.

The plants will be a mix of one sun-loving plant and one shade-loving plant. Choices may include Gregg’s Mistflower, Purple Coneflower, and Lyre Leaf Sage, though the selection may vary.

Native plants are known for their resilience during droughts and contribute positively to the local environment.

The giveaway will operate on a first-come, first-served basis and will start at 9 a.m. on October 5 at the Edwards Aquifer Authority headquarters, located at 900 E Quincy St.
