OKC Beautiful Seeks Volunteers for Tree Planting in South Oklahoma City.
OKLAHOMA CITY — OKC Beautiful is calling for volunteers to help plant trees in south Oklahoma City neighborhoods on November 9 and December 7. Training sessions and kick-off events will be held at Esperanza Elementary, located at 3517 S Linn Ave.
In collaboration with Oklahoma Forestry Services and the USDA Forest Service, the initiative aims to plant 400 trees in neighborhoods with limited tree cover. The project is part of an ongoing effort to improve both the environment and quality of life in areas that have historically lacked sufficient green spaces.
Volunteers will receive training and tools, and no prior experience is necessary. Those interested in volunteering can sign up on the OKC Beautiful website.
Additionally, residents in qualifying areas of south Oklahoma City can still apply for free trees and planting assistance.
This initiative is part of the Tree OKC program, launched in 2022. The program focuses on expanding and preserving Oklahoma City’s tree canopy through planting events, tree giveaways, and community education.
