The Edelweiss Ballroom at Goldener Hirsch underwent a springtime transformation despite the snowy scene outside, as it played host to a vibrant floral affair on Friday. The event, aptly named “Blossoms & Bubbly,” welcomed a group of 15 attendees to indulge in prosecco and pomegranate mocktails while eagerly anticipating a flower arranging class. This event, open to the public, reflects Auberge Resorts Collection’s commitment to incorporating local businesses into their offerings.

Leading the class was Shawn Chamberlain, the owner of Flower Bar Co. based in Heber City. Chamberlain, who recently relocated from Idaho to the Wasatch Back, expressed her delight in timing the class with the onset of spring, aligning with the spirit of the approaching Easter holiday.

“Spring brings forth fleeting blooms that are absent throughout the rest of the year. After enduring a long winter, it’s truly a time to cherish the hope, colors, and renewal that accompany the season,” remarked Chamberlain, whose expertise spans weddings, events, and pop-up classes.

The ambiance of the class was characterized by a relaxed atmosphere, as Chamberlain reassured participants of the pressure-free environment. With laughter filling the room, Chamberlain and her team guided attendees through the process of floral arrangement, beginning with the foundational elements such as greenery.

As participants crafted their arrangements, Chamberlain emphasized the importance of balance and organic design, drawing from her background in landscaping. Demonstrating various techniques, including the manipulation of flower petals to enhance their appearance, Chamberlain shared insights into maximizing the longevity and aesthetic appeal of floral compositions.

The culmination of the class saw each participant crafting their own unique bouquet, reflecting their individual preferences and styles. From vibrant roses to delicate tulips, the room was adorned with an array of colorful creations, each destined to grace Easter tables and homes.

For Chamberlain, events like these not only showcase her passion for floristry but also serve as opportunities to engage with the community. Beyond her business endeavors, Chamberlain’s commitment to philanthropy is evident through her nonprofit initiative, The Full Bloom, which repurposes leftover flowers from events to create arrangements for hospice and nursing home patients.

As the class concluded, attendees departed with their meticulously crafted arrangements, each a testament to the creativity and camaraderie fostered during the “Blossoms & Bubbly” event at Goldener Hirsch.
