The Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI) of The Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) has proudly announced the successful completion of the SSCI Benchmarking process by Florverde Sustainable Flowers (FSF), leading to the attainment of SSCI Recognition. FSF has effectively met the SSCI Benchmarking Requirements for the Primary Production scope, showcasing its dedication to fostering credibility among global sustainability standards.
FSF stands as an independent standard, emphasizing both social and environmental responsibility in flower production. Under this scheme, certified flowers are ensured to be responsibly cultivated, with measures in place to uphold workers’ rights, implement optimal environmental practices, and adhere to national regulations. Additionally, FSF places emphasis on maintaining quality through proper flower care and handling protocols.
Expressing gratitude for this achievement, Daniela España, Director of Florverde Sustainable Flowers, remarked, “I am deeply honored and inspired by our journey towards recognition from the Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI). Our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices has always been fundamental to our operations.” She added, “This recognition not only validates our efforts but also ignites our determination to continue striving for excellence and positive impact.”
España highlighted the significance of aligning with recognized certification bodies and global standards, underscoring the role in paving the way for a more sustainable future for the flower industry. She emphasized the collective effort with partners and stakeholders in shaping a world where ethical labor practices and environmental stewardship are tangible realities.
As the SSCI “verifies the verifiers,” achieving SSCI Recognition represents an additional layer of trust bestowed upon sustainability standards aligned with the SSCI Benchmark Criteria. This recognition signals a commitment to elevating certification processes and fostering harmonization within the diverse landscape of sustainability standards.
Today’s announcement underscores FSF’s fulfillment of industry expectations, cementing its status as a fully recognized entity by the SSCI. This milestone not only signifies a significant achievement but also serves as a catalyst for FSF to forge ahead with renewed vigor and determination in effecting meaningful change on a global scale.
