Police in Maesycwmmer, under the jurisdiction of Gwent Police, conducted a raid today at 10 a.m., Friday, April 19, revealing a cannabis cultivation operation.
Officers, acting on a warrant issued under the Misuse of Drugs Act, were observed near Main Road executing the raid, where they discovered approximately 120 cannabis plants.
Inspector Lysha Thompson provided insights into the operation, stating, “Our officers have carried out a search of the property and disrupted an operation growing cannabis in Gwent.”
Thompson further emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation, stating, “Our investigation to identify those responsible is ongoing, and you may see more of our officers in the area as we carry out our enquiries.”
Additionally, Thompson appealed to the public for cooperation, encouraging them to report any suspicious activities. “You can play a pivotal role in providing us information that helps us safeguard communities and take illegal drugs off our streets.
