Bloxham Churchyard to Bloom with Biodiversity Talk: A Celebration of Nature During Great Big Green Week

Bloxham, Oxfordshire – Step into a hidden world of beauty and biodiversity at St Mary’s Churchyard during a free public talk on Wednesday, June 12th. The event, titled “The Flowers of St Mary’s Churchyard,” is part of Great Big Green Week, a nationwide celebration of environmental awareness and action from June 8th to 16th.

Local botanist, author, and photographer Peter Sheasby will guide attendees through a fascinating journey into the churchyard’s diverse flora. With over 100 species of flowers identified within the grounds, Sheasby will provide an illustrated account of the unique plant life that thrives in this historic setting.

The talk, starting at 7pm in St Mary’s Church, will be preceded by a welcome reception at 6:30pm, offering light refreshments for guests. Following the presentation, attendees are encouraged to explore the churchyard themselves, armed with newly acquired knowledge to spot the various flower species.

This interactive experience will allow participants to connect with nature firsthand and appreciate the importance of biodiversity in even the most unexpected of places.
