Trowbridge is gearing up for a burst of color and nature as the Trowbridge Flower Show prepares to open its doors this weekend. With over 50 captivating window displays adorning the town, businesses, organisations, and charities from across the county have united to infuse Trowbridge with vibrancy and vitality.
Running until June 16th, the festival promises more than just picturesque views. Visitors can expect to indulge in floral sculptures and eco-friendly activities, adding an extra layer of engagement to the event. But the excitement doesn’t end there – a captivating trail meandering through the town awaits exploration, offering participants the chance to vie for enticing prizes such as cinema tickets and gardening sets.
A highlight of the festival is the window display competition, where local councillors and business owners will carefully assess the creative showcases peppered throughout the town. Additionally, a plethora of events is on offer, including a weavers market, studio open days, and insightful gardening talks and demonstrations throughout the week-long extravaganza.
Kez Garner, Chair of the Trowbridge Chamber CIC, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “The Chamber of Commerce, in a spontaneous decision just a few weeks ago, conceptualized a Flower Festival trail to celebrate the tapestry of old and new businesses, enriching our town center with splashes of color amidst ongoing regeneration efforts.”
Garner continued, “We relish orchestrating town trails with enticing prizes, fostering increased foot traffic in and around the center while acquainting individuals with new establishments they may not have explored before.”
Indeed, anticipation is high for the myriad of floral wonders set to grace Trowbridge, from whimsical tea party scenes to majestic floral lions, all contributing to a vibrant tapestry of creativity that promises to enchant residents and visitors alike.
