The harvest season for roses has recently commenced at the Puzhehei planting base in Qiubei County, part of the Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in southwest China’s Yunnan Province.
This expansive planting base covers over 1,000 mu, equivalent to 66.67 hectares, dedicated to the cultivation of roses. During this season, farmers are busy picking the vibrant flowers, which will undergo further processing.
These harvested roses are not just for display; they are transformed into a variety of products to meet market demands. Some of the popular items include rose cakes, which are a local delicacy, rose jam, known for its unique flavor, and various sweets that incorporate the essence of the roses. Additionally, these flowers may be used in other products, showcasing the versatility and economic importance of rose cultivation in the region.
