The annual Lompoc Flower Festival began on Thursday at Ryon Park and will run through Sunday, June 23.
Celebrating the Lompoc Valley’s agricultural heritage, the festival will feature a parade on Saturday with floats made from natural materials and flowers.
Festival activities at Ryon Park include carnival rides, arts and crafts exhibits, various vendors, live music, and, for the first time, camel rides.
Admission is $5, but entry is free on Friday before 1 p.m. Children 12 and under can enter for free all weekend.
The festival is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Sunday, and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday. The parade will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of North H Street (Highway 1) and College Avenue. It will head south to W. Ocean Avenue and end at Ryon Park.
Highway 1 will be closed between Ocean Avenue and North Avenue, and Ocean Avenue will be closed between F Street and R Street from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.
