History:

Keri Kovach Roid, the owner of Growing Miracles Lavender Garden, turned a lifelong dream into reality in a manner akin to a Hallmark movie. After spending 32 years in the corporate world, she returned to her hometown of Roseburg in 2016 to start her lavender farm.

On a scorching 108-degree day, Roid planted her first batch of lavender. The farm is situated along the Umpqua River, benefiting from an ideal microclimate with the perfect balance of temperature, rain, and sunshine.

“I kept this dream in my head and figured that it would never happen, and it happened,” Roid said. “It just kept growing from there and it has been amazing. It’s a Hallmark movie — hence the name ‘Growing Miracles.’”

The 80-acre farm now boasts 5,000 lavender plants. The festival has grown significantly, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

Highlights:

  • Over 65 vendor booths
  • Food and drinks
  • Essential oil distilling
