Local Homeowner Transforms Front Yard into Floral Haven.
Anchorage, AK — Four years ago, Bernita Boyse decided to enhance the small hill in front of her house, located just off a busy side street, by planting flowers. The area was previously covered in dandelions. Inspired by her love for purple flowers and driven by determination, Bernita embarked on a gardening journey despite lacking prior experience.
Starting with a few plants, Bernita dedicated countless hours to her garden. She spent many days planting, learning, and even exercising while working on the hillside. Her hard work has paid off. Today, Bernita’s garden is a vibrant and attractive feature of her neighborhood. Neighbors, passersby, and even local bees have taken notice of her flourishing summer plants.
Bernita’s efforts have created a beautiful and appreciated corner of Anchorage. Her flower garden can be seen at the intersection of Turpin and 4th Avenue.
