Vandalized Flowers Along Ryde Seafront Replaced Quickly.
Flowers vandalized along the seafront in Ryde have been swiftly replaced, restoring color to the Esplanade.
Between Friday night and Saturday morning, vandals targeted flower beds between the bus station and Superbowl, uprooting flowers and scattering them across the pavement.
Local Councillor Karen Lucioni expressed her frustration on social media, asking, “Why, just why?”
With an influx of tourists expected soon, the Isle of Wight Council acted quickly to ensure Ryde is in top condition. A council spokesperson stated:
“It’s unfortunate when vandalism like this occurs. However, we know that the majority of residents and visitors appreciate the summer flowers along the seafront.
”Our parks officer, in collaboration with contractor John O’Conner, arranged for the flowers to be replanted first thing this morning.”
