Thirlmere Open Flower Show Set for August 3.
The Thirlmere Open Flower Show will be held on August 3 at the Thirlmere Recreation Hall, starting at 3 p.m. This traditional event will showcase flowers and arrangements. Additionally, visitors can explore stalls offering local crafts, baked goods, eggs, honey, and photography. A special section for children will also be featured.
This year’s show marks the 75th anniversary of the event at the hall, which first took place there in August 1949.
Participants must have their entries staged by 10 a.m. on the day of the event to be ready for morning judging. The public can enter the show starting at 3 p.m., with Dr. Alice Underwood from the Wool Clip presenting the cups for this year’s opening.
The event is open to all, welcoming anyone who wishes to participate.
