A team of ten young adults from the Green Visions program prepared flowers from their urban and commercial cut farms to sell across the city, including at the Rochester Public Market.
The Green Visions program, created by Greentopia, is a workforce development initiative aimed at fostering a healthy community and cultivating flower gardens on formerly vacant lots.
The program receives funding from donations, including proceeds from the “Reflections on the River” gala on August 1st and from its new Famous Rochesterians Art Project auction.
“This is a demographic that is completely underserved in our community,” said Morgan Barry, the director of Green Visions. “These young adults are looking for work, aiming to gain experience, and build their resumes.”
