Jackson County Conservation Event Offers Prairie Flower Bouquet Workshop.
MAQUOKETA, Iowa — Residents are invited to join a special event hosted by Jackson County Conservation, where they can create their own bouquets of prairie flowers.
The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. on August 31 at the Hurstville Interpretive Center, located at 18670 63rd St. in Maquoketa.
Participants will have the opportunity to walk through the prairie, identify various plants, and learn about their history. They will gather prairie flowers and grasses during the stroll. Afterward, attendees will return to the interpretive center to arrange their bouquets, with helpful tips and tricks provided by the organizers.
Newspaper and twine will be supplied for the bouquets. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own vases or mason jars to showcase their creations.
