Master Gardeners to Host Annual Fall Plant Sale on September 14.
Master Gardeners will hold their annual Fall Plant Sale on September 14 at 3011 N. County Road 1160 in Midland. This location, which was popular during the spring sale, provides easy access and plenty of parking. Volunteers will be on hand to help with plant selection and carry out purchases.
The sale will feature a wide range of seasonal plants. Shoppers can choose from around 20 types of native flowering plants, such as Rock Rose, Flame Acanthus, and Esperanza. These plants are perfect for enhancing gardens and attracting native butterflies and pollinators.
In addition to flowering plants, the sale will offer various fall vegetables, including lettuce, kale, collards, Swiss chard, broccoli, and bok choy. These hardy vegetables can thrive in cooler weather and may last through the winter with proper care. A selection of culinary herbs, like Italian Flat Leaf Parsley, sage, chives, cilantro, and dill, will also be available. Many of these herbs are perennials, offering fresh flavors for several years.
Master Gardeners will provide advice on caring for plants and vegetables. Information about becoming a Master Gardener will also be available.
