Giant Flower Basket Installed at Tian’anmen Square for National Day.
An 18-meter-high flower basket has been set up in Tian’anmen Square as a festive decoration for National Day. The towering display features an array of artificial colorful flowers and vegetables, including pumpkins, pomegranates, calabashes, moutan peonies, and Chinese roses. This elaborate installation is intended to symbolize prosperity and good fortune.
Before Wednesday, a flower belt will be added around the base of the basket, completing the floral display. Once finished, the installation will be officially unveiled to the public.
The flower basket has already attracted numerous tourists eager to photograph the new attraction. This type of decoration has become a traditional feature of Tian’anmen Square’s National Day celebrations, with the first installation debuting in 2011.
National Day in China is celebrated on October 1, and the holiday extends for seven days, from October 1 to 7. During this period, Tian’anmen Square usually sees a significant influx of tourists who come to celebrate the nation’s birthday.
