El Dorado Chapter of California Native Plant Society Announces Annual Fall Plant Sale.
The El Dorado Chapter of the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) is set to hold its annual fall plant sale on October 12 and 13. The sale will be conducted online, with in-person pickup scheduled for October 19. Current members of the society will receive a 10% discount on their purchases.
This event serves as a significant fundraiser for the chapter, helping to fund its educational efforts about the importance of native plants. There has been a growing interest in gardening with native species, yet many find them difficult to source. This plant sale provides a great opportunity to obtain these plants, especially during the fall season when the rains arrive, making it an ideal time for planting.
Please note that the volunteer-run organization cannot hold plants past 2 p.m. on the pickup day, October 19. If you are unsure about being able to collect your plants, consider asking a friend or neighbor to pick them up on your behalf. Any plants left behind will be donated.
The chapter is also seeking volunteers for plant pickup day on Saturday, October 19. There are two volunteer shifts available, and participants will receive a gift plant as a token of appreciation.
The California Native Plant Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving and celebrating California’s native plants and habitats through advocacy, education, plant science, and horticulture. With nearly 10,000 members across 35 chapters in California and Baja, CNPS plays an active role in educating the public about and protecting the region’s many endemic plants.
