Discover Native Plants at El Dorado Nature Center’s Month-Long Sale!

by Anna

The Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) has launched its California Native Plant Sale, offering locals a chance to purchase native plants for their gardens, patios, or homes. The sale, which began on Tuesday, is being held at the El Dorado Nature Center, located at 7550 E. Spring St.

Shoppers can visit the sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, running until Tuesday, Nov. 26, or until supplies last. Hundreds of native plants will be available for purchase.

To participate in the sale, buyers should follow these steps:

1. Download the plant order form from the PRM website, or pick one up at the El Dorado Nature Center when they arrive.

2. Fill out the form by selecting the types and quantities of plants they wish to buy.

3. Drive through the designated order fulfillment line.

4. Bring payment (cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted).

5. Staff will process the order, accept payment, and load the plants into the shopper’s vehicle.

Note that plant quantities are limited, and some plants may sell out. Items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Pre-orders are not accepted.

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Friends of El Dorado Nature Center, an affiliate of the Partners of Parks nonprofit, which supports the maintenance and programs of the Nature Center.
