Students in the Community Join Together to Plant Trees

The Liverpool Middle Green Warriors helped with a fall tree planting event in the village of Liverpool.

Sara Pieklik, the Green Warriors Club Advisor, was joined by the Smith family—Kyle, a freshman at Liverpool High School; Lexi, a seventh-grader at LMS; and James, a third-grader at Liverpool Elementary—as well as Lily, a sixth-grader at LMS from the Peterson family.

Raymond Finney, a technology teacher at LMS, also participated as a member of the Village of Liverpool Tree Committee.

“We learned how to identify the root flare of the tree and ensure it was level with the ground during planting,” Pieklik explained. “Our group planted two Scarlet Oak trees and a Musclewood tree.”
