Explore The Latest Edible Plant Winners For 2025 Gardeners To Try

by Anna

Gardeners often have their favorite plants, but experimenting with new ones can bring exciting results. Jessica Damiano, a gardening expert, recently shared insights on finding fresh plant options for home gardeners.

Each year, the nonprofit All-America Selections (AAS) works with over 80 horticultural professionals from the United States and Canada to test new plant varieties. These experts grow the new plants alongside existing ones, evaluating their performance, growth time, disease resistance, and other key features.

After careful analysis, the best-performing plants are named AAS winners. These plants are then introduced to the market the following year. For 2025, 20 plants have earned this honor, with seven of them being edible varieties.
