Philadelphia took a step closer to the 2026 World Cup on Wednesday with the unveiling of the official host city poster. The event took place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center during the annual Philadelphia Flower Show, where the city’s vibrant spirit and soccer excitement came to life through a stunning floral interpretation.
Designed by Pittsburgh-based artist Nicholas McClintock, the poster features a dynamic image of three soccer balls soaring against the backdrop of iconic Philadelphia landmarks, including the renowned Art Museum and City Hall. Each of the 16 host cities for the 2026 World Cup will have its own distinctive design, showcasing the uniqueness of each location.
The poster unveiling is just the beginning of Philadelphia’s journey as a proud host city. Beginning June 14, 2026, the Lincoln Financial Field (Linc) will host six World Cup games, drawing fans and tourists to the city. The excitement continues just weeks later with the Major League Baseball All-Star Game at nearby Citizens Bank Park, adding to the city’s celebrations during America’s 250th birthday year.
With both sporting events and the city’s cultural landmarks taking center stage, Philadelphia is gearing up for an unforgettable summer in 2026, as it welcomes the world to experience its rich history, vibrant culture, and the global spectacle of the World Cup.
