The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced the successful conclusion of its Green Recycling Day flower distribution event, following the Hong Kong Flower Show.
Due to an overwhelming response, all 3,500 pots of replantable flowers were claimed within just two hours. As a result, the public is now advised not to visit Victoria Park for further flower collection.
The flowers, in excellent condition and perfect for replanting, were distributed promptly after the event’s conclusion. Despite the early start, with long lines forming by 8:30 am at the Southern Pavilion Plaza in Victoria Park, the flowers were quickly claimed.
Any remaining flowers from the event will be donated to local schools, non-profit organizations, and environmental groups, while others will be placed in designated parks across all 18 districts of Hong Kong.
