A new flower shop, Sincerely, Flowers, has opened in Amarillo, Texas, with a story of resilience and second chances. Owner Leslie Ware’s journey began when she started working with flowers at 16 through a work-study program with a Texas master florist. She continued her passion for floral design while working as a nurse for 15 years.
Sincerely, Flowers opened on February 1, just before Valentine’s Day, which quickly filled the shop with orders. Ware had dreamed of opening her own shop for 27 years, but a life-threatening health experience made her realize the importance of pursuing her dreams and spending time with her children.
Ware faced a serious health crisis when she was diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease. Her kidneys began to fail, and doctors gave her only six months to live. However, after having her breast implants removed, her kidney function returned to normal. This experience made her determined to live her life to the fullest and create a family business.
The shop features a prayer wall where customers can share their prayer requests. Ware aims to make flowers accessible and affordable for everyone, regardless of budget. Her short-term goal is to grow the business and hire more employees, while her long-term goal is to retire and pass the business on to her children.
