August 31, 2023 – Richplant, a potted plant nursery that supplies its products through the brand Decorum Company, faced challenges in optimizing plant growth due to root-related problems. To address these issues, Richard Scheffers, the owner of Richplant, turned to the Walking Plant System (WPS system) in a part of the company. However, root problems persisted, hindering productivity.
Richard Scheffers shared, “We attempted various approaches to identify and resolve the root problems that were affecting our crop. We explored chemical and biological agents and even considered administering sodium hypochlorite. Unfortunately, the solutions we tried did not yield the desired results. In fact, we encountered an additional issue with elevated chloride levels in the pots.”
In conversation with Wilfred Vijverberg of CH2O, a company specializing in water treatments with Sure Flow chlorine dioxide, Richard was hesitant about implementing a water treatment solution. He initially believed that the root problems could be addressed more simply and cost-effectively. However, he realized that a comprehensive solution was needed.
Wilfred Vijverberg explained, “I was determined to help Richard and resolve the root problems. Before recommending our solution, I needed a deep understanding of the gardenia cultivation process and Richplant’s watering system. I am committed to ensuring that our solution genuinely resolves the issues, and I provide our products with a full warranty only when I am confident in their effectiveness.”
After implementing the Sure Flow unit with chlorine dioxide, Richplant witnessed a significant improvement. The system has been operational for over two and a half years, effectively eliminating the root problems that were affecting plant growth. Wilfred Vijverberg added, “Before proceeding with full invoicing, I offered Richard the option to install our complete system and start the water treatments. We agreed that the full invoices would only be issued once we were both satisfied with the results. Until then, I only sent invoices for the water treatments themselves.”
