Hiroshi Sakata, the President of Sakata Seed, has been honored with the prestigious All-America Selections (AAS) Medallion of Honor, recognizing his remarkable contributions to the gardening industry.
The AAS, established in 1932, is a distinguished trade association within the global gardening industry, dedicated to introducing and popularizing new plant varieties to gardeners in the United States and Canada. Each year, the AAS conducts competitions to identify and promote innovative plant varieties. The Medallion of Honor is a highly esteemed accolade bestowed upon individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of the gardening industry, making it a symbol of excellence worldwide.
President Hiroshi Sakata joins the esteemed ranks of Sakata Seed, becoming the third member of the company to receive this prestigious honor. He follows in the footsteps of the company’s founder, Takeo Sakata, and former Senior Managing Director, Shunichiro Suda.
The award ceremony took place at the Awards Banquet of the AAS Summer Summit, held in Vancouver, Canada, on September 7, 2023 (local time) or September 6, 2023, in Japan, marking a significant recognition of President Sakata’s outstanding contributions to the gardening industry.
