Mexico City, September 19, 2023 – The annual Ornamental Plants and Flowers (OPF) México trade show, powered by IPM Essen, made its mark from September 12-14 as one of the leading events in the ornamental industry in Mexico. The three-day event witnessed an influx of visitors and exhibitors from Latin America and beyond, further solidifying its reputation as a prominent showcase for the horticulture sector. Notably, this year featured a Netherlands pavilion, adding an international dimension to the expo.
The OPF México trade show showcased a diverse array of offerings, encompassing plants and flowers, cutting-edge technology and innovations, floristry, gardening, and landscaping. The event’s primary focus was on attracting plant breeders, landscape architects, gardeners, and florists.
Situated in the heart of Mexico City, the chosen venue proved strategically ideal, with approximately 70 percent of Mexican plant producers located within three hours’ drive of the show’s location. Organizers emphasized the benefits of Mexico’s proximity to the United States, highlighting it as one of the largest consumer markets for horticultural products, thus facilitating trade and business connections.
Aside from the expansive exhibitor floor, the OPF trade show offered attendees a rich program of seminars, workshops, and live demonstrations. Prior to the main event, several companies opened their doors for exclusive visits, including YecaFlora of Ball FloraPlant, renowned for its production of unrooted cutting geraniums. The international presence at the event was palpable, with participants hailing from various corners of the globe, including Estonia, Colombia, Spain, the United States, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and, of course, Mexico.
