Mienis Water, a distinguished player in the field of membrane technology for over 55 years, stands as one of the top 10 nominated companies in the Netherlands for the prestigious Nederlandse Innovatie Monitor award, presented by the Amsterdam Centre for Business Innovation.
Throughout its rich history, Mienis Water has contributed numerous innovations to the realm of membrane technology, with its groundbreaking solutions implemented in various systems worldwide. However, the past few years have been particularly noteworthy for the company. Jochum Genuït, representing Mienis Water, elaborates on the recent developments, emphasizing their primary goal: to provide clients with robust, low-maintenance, and cost-effective solutions while delivering comprehensive water treatment solutions.
With a legacy as one of the Netherlands’ oldest builders of Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, Mienis Water has consistently excelled in producing high-quality irrigation water. Their systems boast features such as automatic preservation and fully automated cleaning protocols, which have garnered significant acclaim from clients. Notably, these systems have the remarkable ability to practically self-clean and maintain, minimizing operational intervention.
While RO systems excel in providing clean water, they are not designed for drain water disinfection. Recognizing this gap, Mienis Water introduced its Ultrafiltration system for horticultural use over a decade ago. This Ultrafiltration system is an industry standout, distinguished by its robustness, flexibility, and cost-efficiency. It is capable of treating various water sources and excels in water disinfection, achieving log 5 reduction in viruses and log 8 reduction in bacteria. Remarkably, these achievements are coupled with reduced fertilizer usage and minimal energy consumption.
Mienis Water’s commitment to advancing water treatment technologies culminated in the launch of the HydrOxygen system earlier this year. This innovative solution represents a significant milestone in water treatment. The HydrOxygen system is designed to dissolve oxygen and hydrogen gas into water, a process that has been shown to significantly enhance water quality. This, in turn, leads to increased plant yields, improved strength, and various other benefits.
Mienis Water is set to showcase its groundbreaking technologies and innovations at the Canadian Greenhouse Conference scheduled for October 4 and 5, 2023, at Niagara Falls. Visitors can find them at booth 704, where they will provide insights into their Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis systems, known for their fully automated cleaning capabilities. Moreover, Mienis Water will offer valuable information about their latest innovation, the HydrOxygen system, which not only excels in disinfecting and cleaning water but also enhances its overall quality, benefitting plants in numerous ways.
