BloomNation, a stalwart in serving the florist community since 2011, has recently released its much-anticipated Florists’ Trends Report for 2024. Drawing insights from leading BloomNation florists featured in the publication, the report delves into major floral trends that showcase the intersection of design directions and broader industry shifts influencing the floral landscape.

Sonia Maslovskaya, Head of Marketing at BloomNation, emphasizes the compelling parallels observed in the report, connecting floral design trends with influences from Pantone® 2024 fashion color trends, interior design preferences, and global commitments to sustainability. The report explores how these trends seamlessly weave into everyday arrangements, weddings, and event creations.

The Florists’ Trends Report for 2024 encompasses four key color trends in floral design, four wedding trends, and explores crucial topics such as social media trends, the growing emphasis on sustainability, and the rising popularity of workshop experiences within the industry.

Highlighting the top 10 blooms in demand, the list includes the enchanting Polar Bear Gypsophila variety, Ornamental kale, Proteas, Dahlias, Garden roses, Orchids, Anemones, Ranunculus, Scabiosa, and Anthurium.

The report also sheds light on the current state of the floral industry, featuring a candid conversation with Kate Penn, CEO of the Society of American Florists, and Farbod Shoraka, CEO of BloomNation. The industry analysis reveals a 13% increase in total spending on floral products through 2023, with significant growth in e-commerce, accounting for 22% of retail sales, up from 14% in 2019.

Florists experiencing growth share their successful strategies, emphasizing increased focus on Search Engine Optimization and digital advertising, robust social media marketing, and an unwavering commitment to enhanced customer service quality. The report notes a consumer preference for immediate gratification, with a willingness to pay more for same-day delivery.

BloomNation, renowned for providing florists with a comprehensive suite of tools, including a search engine-optimized website, Point of Sale systems, and email/SMS marketing, has expanded its offerings. The company now features a video platform where florists can access business tips and design ideas from their community peers. Additionally, BloomNation has embarked on international expansion, starting with Canada, empowering Canadian florists with the same tools and automation to reach a wider audience and elevate their businesses.
