Prescott reports robust sales, with a particular surge in demand for tulips, lilies, and Iris. “The lily market has significantly tightened up for us, and while tulips are also becoming scarcer, we are still able to offer added value to our customers,” states Prescott. He further notes the sustained popularity of blue iris, highlighting their appeal in consumer bunches, whether paired with matricaria, tulips, hyacinth, or presented in straight bunches. Additionally, this year brings the eagerly awaited Butterfly Ranunculus crop for Valentine’s Day, with orders being accepted for fulfillment through June.
Despite a wet season in California, Prescott emphasizes that the weather has not impeded production. “We are accustomed to wet winters, and the added warmth has ensured our crops are right on schedule. Moreover, we are fortunate to have clear transportation lines out of California, allowing us to circumvent any bottlenecks typically encountered in Miami.”
